This course addresses the basic concepts that a Privacy Manager should know, both in the public and private sector. It gives the students knowledge on the basic elements of privacy and data protection policies.
Week 1 – The policy cycle: problem definition, design, implementation, evaluation and indicators
Week 2 – Duties and responsibilities of privacy managers
Week 3 – European and international privacy and data protection frameworks
Week 4 – Assessment of privacy risks and management of information requests
Week 5 – Data management and computer security
Week 6 – Role of chief privacy officers and data protection officers
Week 7 – Implementing an organizational privacy program and strategy
